HELLSCAPE IS CURRENTLY ON HIATUS UNTIL FALL 2019

hellscape is a bi-annual journal (Winter & Summer Issues), accepting submissions from October 1st -- January 1st & again from March 1st -- May 1st. any submissions received in between these times will be deleted, so please only submit while the submission period is open. we are pleased to receive your best art, comics, poems, flash fiction, & micro-essays in our inbox (hellscapepress@gmail.com).

 

please make your subject line your name & submission type. include up to 5 pieces in your submission, a brief cover letter, & 100-word third-person bio. 

 

art/comics 

we can accept files of any type. please include an artist's statement about the piece(s) in your cover letter. 

 

poetry / fiction / non-ficition 

we can currently accept word, pages, & pdf files. please make sure your submission is no more than 10 pages. 

 

hybrid/mixed media 

if you would like to submit a mixed media piece (image & written word, music, or video) we would love to see it! if you are submitting such a piece, please briefly describe the concept in your cover letter & include an artist's statement. 

 

again, we are not looking for work which graphically depicts violence & gore. we are not looking for vampires, zombies, werewolves, or demon curses. we are looking for work which evokes a sense of existential dread & true awestruck terror of the human condition. we are particularly dedicated to the work, art, stories, etc. of neurodiverse people and those living with mental & emotional challenges.
